Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk-ins are welcome at Toty Mechanic Shop. You can also call (402) 713-6218 before you come to check availability. We’re open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

How much does an oil change cost?
A conventional oil change is $38.88 and a synthetic oil change is $58.88. Each includes up to 5 quarts of oil, a standard filter and a courtesy inspection for most cars and light trucks; additional charges may apply for extra oil or special filters. How much does a brake job cost?
Brake pad replacement labor starts at $100 per axle, and brake pads and rotors labor starts at $150 per axle. Parts are additional and depend on your vehicle. Call (402) 713-6218 for pricing for your vehicle.
Is it safe to drive with the check engine light on?
A flashing check engine light usually signals a serious problem, such as an engine misfire, so avoid driving and have it checked as soon as possible. A steady light is less urgent, but it should still be checked soon. Our vehicle scans start at $50; additional diagnostic work may be needed and is priced separately.
Why won’t my car start on a cold morning?
Cold weather reduces how much power a battery can deliver, so a weak battery often shows up on the first cold mornings of the year. Slow cranking, clicking or dim lights are common signs. We offer professional battery replacement, and the battery health check is free when you replace your battery with us. Battery pricing varies by vehicle.
Can you inspect a used car before I buy it?

Do you do Nebraska VIN inspections?
No. In Nebraska, VIN inspections for vehicles with out-of-state titles are done through the county sheriff’s office. Nebraska doesn’t require a yearly safety inspection for personal vehicles, but we offer pre-purchase, seasonal, cooling system, tire pressure and safety inspections to help you catch problems early.
What is your labor rate?
General mechanical repairs are $100 per labor hour, plus parts. Starting prices for oil changes, brakes and vehicle scans are posted on this page, and we explain what we find before recommending repairs.
Do repairs come with a warranty?
Yes. Toty offers a 90-day labor warranty. Replacement parts are covered by their manufacturer’s warranty. Ask us about coverage for your specific repair.
